Methane Energy Uncertainty Methodology

The Methane Energy Uncertainty Methodology (MEUM) provides applicants and ACPs with a mechanism to determine the uncertainty associated with the measurement of actual energy content for the purposes of Equations 13 or 16 of the Generation Rule.

The MEUM Guideance Document presents an overview of the statistics used in the methodology, as well as important information on random and systemic error components. A worked-example is also included to assist parties in completing their own uncertainty assessment.

The MEUM Calculation Spreadsheet is the tool which must be used by parties intending to create NGACs under this methodology. These spreadsheets contain all the required equations for the determination of uncertainty, and include some sample data for guidance purposes.
