Worked example for calculating LUACs using Project Impact Assessment and Baseline methodology

These worked examples are to assist project proponents to gain an insight into calculating LUACs using the Greenhouse Gas Benchmark Rule (Large User Abatement Certificates) No.4 of 2003. IPART has prepared several worked examples for different calculation methods:

  • Project Impact Assessment Method – Fuel Switching;
  • Project Impact Assessment Method – Increased Efficiency of On-Site Fuel Use;
  • Project Impact Assessment Method – Reduced On-Site Fugitive Emissions;
  • Baseline Method for New Plant or Plant Extensions – Reduced Industrial Emissions; and
  • Baseline Method for Existing Plant (Using Production, Product and Input Equations) – Increased Efficiency From Fuel Use.
